NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE RENTAL UNITS--A 200 EURO CLEANING CHARGE WILL BE ADDED IF SMOKING OCCURS INSIDE. Use of candles is not permitted anywhere at Casa Azahar.

Buses: The red Alhambra bus runs very frequently through the Albaycin and down to Plaza Nueva. There is a bus from there up to the Alhambra Palace. The closest bus stop is on the side of Iglesia del Salvador, the large brick church in the center of the Albaycin that can be seen from the upper terrace. It is about 3 blocks from the rentals.

Kitchen: Both Rauda House and Loft View feature a kitchenette with a two-burner electric hot plate, sink, granite counter, and small refrigerator. Any other kitchen facilities are not for guest use. Basic dishes, pans, and utensils are supplied.

CASA CUEVA: Part of Rauda House is a "casa cueva," or a hand-dug earth cave. This type of dwelling has existed in Granada for more than 1000 years. Part of this cave date back at least 800 years.

• Heat: please use the plug-in electric heaters in each bedroom. 

• Ventilation: There is a switch on the outside cave wall in the courtyard that turns on and offer an air circulation fan. We recommend turning this on during mid day.

• Bath tub: Please keep the rubber plug in the bath tub when not in use.

• TV: The small black remote controls the satellite, which is Digital Plus. English language channels include CNN 76, Fox News, 77, and CNBC, 78.

• Sofa bed: The brown sofa flattens out to a double sized bed. Please let us know if you plan to use the sofa bed so that we can provide bedding.

• Washer & dryer: please ask for instructions if you are not familiar with European style washers and dryers. Do not attempt to force the door of the washer open. It locks during each cycle. Please supply your own detergent, softener, etc. Liquid detergent only is allowed. THERE IS A CHARGE FOR USING THE WASHER/DRYER, ON THE HONOR SYSTEM. 6 EUROS FOR EACH LOAD (WASHER & DRYER). PLEASE E-MAIL OR LEAVE A NOTE WITH THE NUMBER OF LOADS WASHED DURING THE STAY, AND THE CREDIT CARD ON FILE WILL BE CHARGED. 

• Hot Water: Hot water heaters are supplied for each apartment. They are tank-style which supply immediate hot water, however they are not unlimited in capacity.

• Wifi: There is free access to our wifi transmitter for normal use.

  Wood: A complimentary small supply of wood is provided. Thereafter there is a 0.50 charge for sticks 3" in diameter or smaller and a 1 euros charge for larger logs. As with the laundry, please leave a note indicating how much wood was used, and we will charge the credit card on file. Otherwise, you may leave cash upon departure.

There is a small vegetable market at Plaza Larga each morning, excluding Sundays. Calle Panaderos also has a good fish monger. There is a good butcher on Calle Aguas.
